Metalmark moth - Brenthia pavonacella

Metalmark moth - Brenthia pavonacella
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
Size: 9 mm
9 mm wingtip to wingtip
8/23/08 A woods full of Desmodium glutinosum, pointed tick trefoil, many of which had herbivory on the leaves. I took a few to raise the larvae but didn't have ready access to fresh Desmodium leaves. It didn't work. As luck would have it I had a second chance 9/30/08 to collect a few more leaves with larvae. The larvae pupated and emerged 3/27/09. I used Terry Harrison's microplep website to determine the species. (He lists only one species on Desmodium and it looks like the correct beast.)

I'm not sure how to post these as there were actually 3 pupae (the photos shows 2) connected in the cocoons. Two emerged as adults but the 3rd (hidden one) was still a pupa when I put the entire jar into the freezer. I do not know which larva goes with which adult or with the remaining pupa so I've clustered all three here.

Please advise as to which photos to remove and if I should cluster these differently. Thank you.
