Placed in family Trachelidae in 2014, though I am unsure how much agreement there is on that change.

Identification
Species in this genus look largely similar to each other, so in areas where more than one species can be found, identification via the genitalia is usually required.
Range
Ranges are from Platnick and Shadab, 1974. (1)

T. huachucanus - Arizona, New Mexico.
T. mexicanus - Utah and Colorado south through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
T. organatus - Arizona, Sonora, and Baja California.
T. pacificus - Range is Western North America from California and Nevada south to northern Baja California. This is the only species listed for CA by Steve Lew's site.
T. similis - Southeastern United States south to Costa Rica.
T. sinuosus - Southern Georgia and Florida.
T. tranquillus - New England south to Georgia and Alabama and west to Kansas and Minnesota. Also found in Ontario and Nova Scotia, Canada.
T. volutus - Southeastern United States.
