male Epuraea, yes

will try to figure it out at some point; wish for sharper pix but will settle for what's available -- various angles very helpful

going through my 1909 NJ book and the species they list at the time (always start off with a joke) Epuraea erichsoni and Epuraea labilis look the closest. That said Epuraea terminalis appears the closest based only on coloring and ignoring my ancient reference. Still I was only using color pattern as my guide and didn't consider body shape and proportion or range and habitat. (Just wanted to save my thoughts before I forget them.)

E.t. is easily recognizable (common throughout Russia, too). Your guy --surprisingly!-- is not among those shown on that WI page
