Explanation of Names
Occidentella is derived from Latin meaning "western".
Size
Forewing length 7.5-11.5 mm (Powell & Opler, 2009).
Food
Larva feed on keratinous materials from feathers, bird carcasses, owl cough pellets, and coyote scats (Powell & Opler, 2009).
