Jason, I was just about to guess (and trust me, it would only have been a guess) that your beetle was this subspecies when I saw that the image had already been moved to the guide page. I am going to assume that you did not move the image... I do not know who made the ID and then moved the image, but I do wish that editors would not do that without leaving a comment (see my post to that effect here). Hopefully this sort of thing won't happen to your images too often. :)

I read a few forumn posts abo
I read a few forumn posts about the Id's without any comments. It leaves me without any info as to how someone comes to the conclusion, and I still am in the dark for next time I find one.. Thanks for the comment. I snapped a few pictures and put this little guy in a jar for better pictures later, unfortunately later it flew away as soon as I got it out... :(
