stonefly - Oemopteryx contorta

stonefly - Oemopteryx contorta
Woodford, Bennington County, Vermont, USA
April 2, 2009
Size: 9.6mm

New species for the guide
City Stream is a fast moving rocky small river about 30 feet across and only a couple feet deep. This location is near the bottom of long hill (mountain?) that the stream runs down, mostly alongside route 9.

Oemopteryx contorta
I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't know what else it could be. Taken from City Stream about 4 km W Woodford according to your GIS data??? I haven't seen this species before, but it is known from most of New England.

Moved
Moved from Stoneflies.

Taeniopterygidae
Must see. Ventral view of abdomen very helpful.
