Clubtail - Hylogomphus parvidens

Clubtail - Hylogomphus parvidens
Silver Bluff Audubon Center, Jackson, Aiken County, South Carolina, USA
April 4, 2009
Banner or Piedmont or something else? In the field I thought Banner but the thorax just didn't seem right and now I'm not sure. Looking at pictures on bugguide I'm leaning toward Piedmont.

There were at least 4 of these and they were along a sandy, grassy road between a pine plantation and a brushy area.
