Wood cockroach? - Cryptocercus punctulatus

Wood cockroach? - Cryptocercus punctulatus
Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, USA
April 5, 2009
Size: 1 inch
Under log. High elevation. Don't know roaches too well.

identify
I think it's an oriental cockroach.

No.
This is wa-a-a-y better than one of the introduced urban pests. This is a "brown-hooded roach," Cryptocercus punctulatus, a species not seen very frequently. Great find!
