The brown maculations along the dorsum of the abdomen are diagnostic of this taxon, however, may be diffuse or greatly reduced (even absent) in some individuals.

Like most other females of this species examined from NC, this specimen lacks pruinose spots at the base of the abdomen.

In contrast, males of T. winnemanna do possess paired white spots at the base of the abdomen. In addition to these pruinose spots, males seem to have more pronounced brown maculations dorsally along the abdomen.
