Tibicen winnemana, Female:

This specimen of T. winnemanna from South Carolina has diffuse brown maculations dorsally along the abdomen, less pronounced bowing to the costae and slight indications of pruinose spots at the base of the abdomen (I have rarely seen such white marks at the base of the abdomens in females from NC). Perhaps this specimen is suggestive of a possible intergrade zone between winnemanna and pruinosus (??).
