This little cicada is very common along the Florida highlands and in xeric scrub habitats. They are fast fliers and seem to occupy areas near Pine Flatwoods (Rattlesnake country!). This species ranges across most of peninsular Florida up the eastern reaches of the Panhandle.
These cicadas are highly variable in color, and while most tend to be reddish-brown, some can be colored light green and various shades incorporating greens and reddish browns.
