Chortophaga viridifasciata
This is a female nymph (4th instar) of the Green-striped Grasshopper. It seems to get photographed more than almost any other grasshopper; however, yours are the first from Rhode Island at BugGuide, so they can fill in a small blank spot on the map. They can be green, purplish pink, brown, gray, or mixes of these, and this one would seem to be green, as a majority of females are :)
