Hymenoptera 02 - Pristiphora rufipes

Hymenoptera 02 - Pristiphora rufipes
Canyon Park, Snohomish County, Washington, USA
April 7, 2009
Size: ~1cm
One of a group (~8 or more) Hymenopterans swarming around a small columbine. I cant decide if these are Symphyta or parasitic apoctrita. They were very one minded in the exploration of the Columbine, totally ignoring the miniature rose and antique tulips planted around the columbine. I had several land on the camera while trying to photograph specimens.

Note: I could not keep track of individuals well so hence the photos not being linked excluding Hymenoptera 03a & H 03b.
