Moved from Walker's Cicada.

Tibicen pronotalis
Yes, spectacular, aren't they?

T. pronotalis = T.walkeri = T.marginalis ?
After digging around BugGuide, and the internet, it appears that these three latin names all refer to the same cicada (T. pronotalis = T.walkeri = T.marginalis) Is that correct?

I also ran across an old post here where T.walkeri was referred to as the Great Harvestfly. Would that mean that T.pronotalis would then be called Great Harvestfly as well?

Any help in sorting out this confusion is much appreciated. :)

agreed
Yes, these are neat cicadas. They seem to vary in color a bit. I have a spot where I find lots of them along with Tibicen dorsatus. Generally pronotalis on small trees and dorsatus in the surrounding grass and brush. Least that's how I remember it.
