You mean that you went to Ronkonkoma, home of the Long Island Pine Barrens (one of the best collecting habitats on the island), and all you found was the common introduced European meadow spittlebug??

Thanks Andy!!
I've never seen the Pine Barrens in Ronkonkoma, But here in Baiting Hollow we have our own mini Pine Barrens as well as those in Riverhead and Westhampton. They are calling to me everyday. Last year I had great times there and the worse case of chiggers ever so have so far resisted their bounty.
