taking a plain dorsal would have spared you a loot of time and frustration. fancy angles sometimes help, but always start with mainstream 'academic' ones for ID purposes

That's good advice.

I know, these are a mess, but I wasn't trying to be fancy. He just showed up at eye level, in my face. Notice it looks like he is looking down at me, that's because he is. I took one fast shot, he turned around and left, never to be seen yet again :-/

weird angles help to recognize other shots taken at weird angles! that's the thing about BG ID work :-]
