lurking in my bedroom window - Chauliodes pectinicornis

lurking in my bedroom window - Chauliodes pectinicornis
Bear, New Castle County, Delaware, USA
August 1, 2005
Size: 4" length
sorry - it was 3am when we took this. It's a 4" long, flexible flying insect with feathered antenna. It has two sets of transparent wings of equal size with dark 'veins' and darkish spots but no decernable pattern. The body does not change size from head to tail and the antenna are almost half the length of the body. It's head is large and has large, protruding eyes.
