Size: Body about 2" long
From what I have seen on this site, I thought that maybe this butterfly was a Pipevine Swallowtail, but I would like a confirmation of that. The photo was taken at the bottom of a large waterfall where the butterfly was sipping water from a small depression in a rock.

I think the puddling behavior indicates that this is a male.

 
I'd say
that the degree of blue irridescence on the hindwings also suggests a male. Very nice shot!
