Entomobrya atrocincta? Male? Found on piece of scrap wood in the leaf litter.

Entomobrya atrocincta, indeed
A male specimen indeed. Or it is a subadult in which the typical black thoracic belt is not yet developed. Or it is an adult male infraspecific colour variant without the typical black belt.

The males are quite a bit harder to find, but they stand out with the orange color. Slightly smaller than the females too.

In Collembola...
males are a minority. ;-)
And indeed always smaller than females.
In Symphypleona, sex ratios (f/m) of 10/1 or 100/1 are not unusual. And males are often about half the size of females.
