unknown black weevil - Madarellus undulatus

unknown black weevil - Madarellus undulatus
Baiting Hollow, Suffolk County, New York, USA
October 9, 2008
Size: small
I don't have a measurement, but he is perched on the edge of a Montauk Daisy petal. You can get some idea that he is small by seeing the contour of the edge of the petal. In the process of playing dead.

I know, I know, another weird angle:-/

did you keep it? can take dorsal?

black weevil - dorsal
I didn't save it. It is hard for me to kill bugs unless it is for a good reason.
Sometimes I kill one by mistake and feel terrible.
Should I save weevils that I haven't seen before?

These are all I can offer for dorsal.

Maderellus undulatus
