Listronotus sp - Listronotus oregonensis

Listronotus sp - Listronotus oregonensis
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
April 16, 2009
Size: 6.64mm
Attracted to door light. Elytra striated w/lateral margins simple-lack tubercles, eyes
large and elongate, tarsal claws connate @ base, front coxae contiguous, not separated
by sternal sclerite, rostrum not received into a central channel, eyes on head - not
rostrum, ant geniculate w/scrobe and 3seg club, legs w/apex of front, mid and hind
tibiae w/tooth and apical comb of setae subparallel to length of tibia. All that
from Arnett Vol II pgs 725-727 led me to Molytini. Going through that key on pg 787,
led me to "Hormops" of which I can find no further info or photo's. Notwithstanding
my terrible track record using Arnett's keys, is my guess so please have a go at it.
Many thanks

Moved
Moved from Listronotus.

looks rather like a Listronotus to me
similar to or
pls don't move to species! they are really tough to ID, and Dr O'Brien seems to be the sole authority to make sp.-level calls

Listronotus!
Tks v. I'm not brave enough to move anything yet. Went back through
the keys, had a note on Listronotus (Arnett, Vol II pg 766) since
the pronotum is almost identical to figure 65, w/seta-like scales
~2x dia of adjacent rounded scales, but X-ed out the sp. because
of the size listed as

genus confirmed by Charles O'Brien
as to the sp., he'll check it against his coll'n at a later time

Species ID
Listronotus oregonensis LeConte, don't let the name confuse you. It is found in 40+ states in the US, 2 Canadian Provinces, and in Mexico.
