Sharpshooter Nymph - Draeculacephala

Sharpshooter Nymph - Draeculacephala
Warrenville, DuPage County, Illinois, USA
April 18, 2009
Size: 5mm
Tiny hopper on blue jeans. Looks like it has some sort of parasite attached to its leg.

A nymph of a sharp-headed sharpshooter. The red thingy is a phoretic mite (i.e., a hitch-hiker).

Ahh, very interesting. Thank you.
