False Bombardier Beetle ? - Galerita janus

False Bombardier Beetle ? - Galerita janus
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
April 19, 2009
Size: 19mm (3/4")
I've been trying to get a pic of one of these for a while now this year but they are fast and wiley. I finally caught this one.
I first thought this was a False Bombardier Beetle but I'm a little confused. Why do some of them have orange legs and others black ?
Also note the orange spot on it's head.

Please help with ID.
