Serrate claws w/no setae, slender hairlike setae over entire body.

Melanotus looks right
for genus. Species are very problematic in Melanotus and male genitalia usually have to examined. I've found that with elaterid keys it helps to drink before trying the key.

Thank you Mike, don't think I will be snipping anything that small, I
can live w/genus on this one, although I think they have a pretty
neat look to them. I opened a beer, in preparation for trying to
ID another small weevil using Arnett again tonight, brute for
punishment I am. Thanks for the tip on key surfing. Bruce
