Centipede - Lithobius microps

Centipede - Lithobius microps

April 20, 2009
Size: 1 cm body length
I found this centipede amoung the roots and dirt of some moss that I pulled out of the ground. I shook the moss over a plastic container and this individual fell out along with a tiny spider and some other tiny 'bug. Can anyone tell me anything more specific than centipede?

This is a stone centipede. In your second picture, you can see the partially extended poison claws on the side of the face. Very fast little critters. Nice shots.
