Carpet Bagger Caterpillar - Tinea pellionella

Carpet Bagger Caterpillar - Tinea pellionella
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
April 19, 2009
Size: 1.25 cm
This caterpillar was climbing up the wall in my house. It would stick the tube to the wall then extend its head and some legs out of the tube a bit, grab the wall, pull the tube toward its head, stick the tube to the wall and then start over.

It could put its head out either end of the tube. The tube appeared to be made of carpet fibers.
