Wasp - Poecilopompilus interruptus

Wasp - Poecilopompilus interruptus
Bellevue, NE, Sarpy County, Nebraska, USA
August 3, 2005
Size: approximately 1/2"
This wasp was photographed in Fontenelle Forest, Bellevue, NE on Queen Anne's Lace. Sorry I don't have more than one view. Hope someone can help with ID.

Thanks,

Loren and Babs Padelford

Spider wasp.
I'm envious. This is the second specimen of the spider wasp Poecilopompilus interruptus that I have seen here on BugGuide in the last two weeks. I collected only one in the eleven years I lived in Cincinnati! Neat. This is probably a male, judging by the long, straight antennae. Nice image of a paper wasp lookalike.

Thanks Eric!!
We thank you again for your prompt ID. We really appreciate your help.
