great photography
I just wanted post my two cents on what a neat image this is. The color is great, and where both predator and prey have their legs spread similarly is visually appealing. It's also good that the background has a bit of color to it, nice exposure. A great shot. Wish it was one of mine! :)

We would have suggested
Misumenops based on the eyes we can see.

prey is Agapostemon
female

Nice!
And after all that work, gathering pollen!

Flower spider
It's a pity isn't it? All that work for naught.

I thought this was goldenrod spider Misumena vatia until I was exposed to the diverse array of flower spiders on Arthropods of OC. Now I'm confused, is it Misumena vatia or Misumenops or something else. It seemed a bit large for Misumena.

She lost her head over that spider.
I'm not at all good with spider IDs, but several people here are. On these spiders, eye pattern is important. Maybe a half dozen of mine haven't been IDed yet. (There were a lot at Nix a few weeks ago. Place was dry - literally - yesterday.)
