Bee Assassin Bug - Apiomerus floridensis

Bee Assassin Bug - Apiomerus floridensis
Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, Florida, USA
January 14, 2004
There were quite a few of these perched on clumps of grass in a sandy field. I believe it is a Bee Assassin.

Bee Assassin
This is a "bee assassin" in the genus Apiomerus. They have sticky hairs on the front legs so that prey adheres to them!
