Size: ~14mm total length.
This is the first Syrphid that I've seen come to the black light, a real treat to have a Syrphid stand still for several photos. Looks similar to .

Note that the light markings have more of a "hand painted" look with "blobby" ends, as opposed to the more geometric, almost printed appearance of Eupeodes. (Disclaimer: No expert here, and I've been wrong on these before.)

Very nice shots, Gary, particularly the side view. You certainly made the most out of your opportunity.
