Carpenter bee? - Osmia

Carpenter bee? - Osmia
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA

Size: 1/4 inch +/-

No, sorry:-(
This is a mason bee, genus Osmia, family Megachilidae. Note the hairy face. Xylocopa will have a bare face, and be slightly to greatly larger, depending on the species. You should definitely have large carpenter bees down there, so keep looking:-)

Thanks for the ID tips, Eric. I'll keep an eye out for them.

:-P)
