Green Beetle - Calleida viridipennis

Green Beetle - Calleida viridipennis
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
April 22, 2009
Size: 10mm
Attracted to light, very fast, almost lost him before I could capture it for the photo. I hope my ID is correct, comments welcomed.

Calleida viridipennis
is a reasonably good choice for this species that is known throughout eastern USA including the far southeast. Image fits well my one reference specimen. Compare to closest other: C. purpurea. Keep up the nice perpendicular dorsal shots which help most for carabid identification.
