Water Boatman - Sigara conocephala - female

Water Boatman - Sigara conocephala - Female
Nosehill Park, Alberta, Canada
April 18, 2009
Size: 7.5 mm
This is the true Sigara conocephala- females do not have the pronounced conical head; both sexes have relatively long and slender palae (not shown)

Maybe Callicorixa
Compare this with Callicorixa audeni, especially the wide interocular space and transverse corial pattern. C. audeni is one of the most common corixids in Alberta.
