Oak Bullet Gall Wasp, newly emerged - Disholcaspis quercusglobulus

Oak Bullet Gall Wasp, newly emerged - Disholcaspis quercusglobulus
Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
I was skeptical about trying to repair a gall with scotch tape, but after a week or two (this was summer 2004), I looked in the plastic tub and found a newly emerged tiny gall wasp! The bad news was, it was stuck to the tape... but at least this allowed me to photograph it. Identified to genus using Cranshaw 2004 "Garden Insects of North America" (yes, I know, I need to read the BugGuide help section in more detail to figure out how to make active links, references, thumbnail images, and all that)
