Explanation of Names
Phidippus apacheanus Chamberlin & Gertsch, 1929
A Latinized adjective that means "of the apache"(1)
Identification
Male/Female


Male P. cardinalis can be distinguished from male P. apacheanus by the lack of the shiny, green chelicerae found in the latter. See images of faces below (P. cardinalis/P. apacheanus):

Massachusetts west to Idaho and south to Florida and California (2)
