I agree -- This is such a great photo!
It's so artistic :) I've been finding mites around old tree cricket egg cases in twigs, and I certainly envy your ability to take great photos of these tiny critters!

I'm certainly not an expert, but your photo does seem to have a resemblance to this:

But....a lot of mites look very similar to me. And your bug is 3x the size as the one in Scott's photos.

Hopefully a mite expert will be able to tell you a species.

Looks very much like the one in that picture from Scott. It's definitely an Oribatid, but beyond that I know little about the group.
