Beetle? 05.04.2009 004 - Penthe obliquata
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
May 4, 2009
Need help with ID on this fellow. Notice the orange tipped antennae and is that an orange spot or something else in the middle of it's back? Attracted to UV light.

Penthe obliquata
This is Penthe obliquata. You're right, that's an orange spot on the scutellum.

*
the spot [diagnostic] is dense orange pubescence, not integument pigmentation
