Katydid, Amblycorypha ?

I'm uploading a closeup of something odd hanging down from the abdomen. Anybody know what that is? Can post a shot of it from the other side if that helps.

Kansas Insect Guide mentions an Amblycorypha hausteca, but I don't find anything like that.

Yes....
Yes, it is a species of Amblycorypha, and a recently-mated female. The "structure" is a spermatophore, left as a "gift" by the male. The female will eat the packet for its extra protein.
