Cymindis - subgenus Pinacodera
My feeling is that image is most consistent with C. platicollis -- widely distributed including TX. Image compares well to my several reference specimens which differ from the four (Bousquet & Larochelle, 1993) other known Texan Pinacodera as follows:
C. complanata with rufous forebody [per Lindroth]; C. punctifera [see syn. "Lebia punctifera" at MCZ] with dense coarse punctures on forebody ; C. punctigera [see "Cymindis punctigera" at MCZ] with less coarse punctae but legs relatively dark; C. limbata with humeral pale stripe. Note that I give the correct species spellings based on the now accepted Latin feminine gender of "Cymindis" and "Pinacodera". MCZ refers to the searchable database for photographs of type specimens.

taxonomic note
Current trend (Wolfgang Lorenz 2005, Terry Erwin in forthcoming publication) is to move Pinacodera to genus status.
