Tiny crab-like bug found in bathtub

My mother found this early in the morning in her bathtub and would love to know what it is.
She thinks it's some sort of tick.
I feel I should emphasize the fact that this thing is very very small.
Maybe a cm in length, max.
I'm pretty curious about it too!
