Ants - Tetramorium immigrans

Ants - Tetramorium immigrans
Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA
May 3, 2009
There was a battle going on here. The ant in the middle was being attacked by the surrounding ants which were in the process of tearing it apart. Some family dispute. Any ID possible for them? Thanks.

Moved from Ants.

Tetramorium caespitum
The worker in the center is likely an ant from another nest. These ants develop territories where they can forage and sometimes have large wars for land.
