Any ideas? The second image also has what I believe is a nymph Garden fleahopper (Halticus bractatus).

Hydraena Hydraena

looks like Hydraena to me, which is weird
and, most frustratingly, the photo is not exactly conducive to a reliable ID :-/

Weird because...
of the seemingly smooth elytra or because it was next to the Garden Fleahopper on dollar weed?

*Maybe* elytra wasn't as smooth as they seem and I did find an image of an Hydraena with fairly smooth elytra...
Found three block from Lake Pontchartrain in my back yard under a 150 watt light that was on most of the night...

Weird for some other reason?

Weird because... doesn't belong on a leaf next to the damn plant bug, but in the lake! however, the 150W explains everything :-]
