Criorhina nigriventris
This is Criorhina nigriventris var. intermedia. See the bare cheeks, the yellow setose posterior calli, the pollinose anterior mesonotum.

please help with the id!
this is bugging me. seen on a tree in a state forest. from far off i thought it was a bee-like robber- obviously the eyes and legs exclude this option.
