Moved
Moved from Springtails and allies. Wow, we only had one image of this species!

Sminthurides aquaticus
Family Sminthurididae. Very small globular springtails with dimorphic sexes. The males are half the size of the females and have modified clasping antennae with which they can grab the bases of the antennae of a female. Look out for such head-to-head interconnected couples in the colony!

Thanks, Charley ;-)

Moved
to Collembola, to see if Frans Janssens has anything to say... but I think you (like me) will need a better lens/camera to get very far with springtails.
