Common names of Tiger Beetles
I really don't pay attention to as a worker in carabid taxonomy. However, I did notice that "Punctured Tiger Beetle" was assigned to this one by cicindelid authorities Pearson et al (2006) who were attempting to stabilize common names. Name repeated in most recent Treatise on Western Hemisphere Caraboidea - Vol 2 by Erwin & Pearson (2008).
