Ericrocis lata Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA April 23, 2009 Size: BL about 11 mm
This stunning black-and-white bee was nectaring at Sweetbush (Bebbia juncea, Asteraceae). This handsome fella (possibly a male) also has red tips on the antennae and white knees. The marginal cell is somewhat elongate.
