Identification
This species is represented at BOLD by either BOLD:AAB1356 or BOLD:AAB5482, two BINs in Venusia narrowly separated by mtDNA barcode. (As of 2023, specimens in the latter are misidentified as obsoleta.) Until examination of type specimens species, subspecies and synonyms in Venusia is made, it seems best to treat specimens in both of these two BINs as pearsalli. (Steve Nanz, pers. comm., 2023)
