Preying on a Digger Wasp, Scolia dubia. There was quite a struggle for a minute or so, with the wasp attempting to sting the spider, but the wasp lost. This is the same individual spider that took a large Sphinx moth, a Hummingbird Clearwing, Hemaris thysbe, on August 25--see linked image below.
