Remarks
this genus is an absolute mess. Many years ago, I transferred a few of the species to other genera (Scelolyperus, Synetocephalus, Microscelida). However, Pseudoluperus still remains a heterogeneous assemblage of species that are only remotely related to each other. Whenever a truly careful revision is done, the current Pseudolupterus will probably be broken up into about half a dozen genera. Likely, true Pseudoluperus will consist of just the single species P. longulus (LeConte), with P. decipiens (Horn) and P. bakeri Beller & Hatch being treated as synonyms of P. longulus.
