The top panel shows larval damage on Celastraceae: Celastrus scandens, which is the only larval host plant of this species; it was collected 1 mile west of Charleston, Coles County, Illinois, on 8 May, 2009 and was photographed on the same date. The insect was reared to adult (bottom panel), which emerged and was photographed on 23 May, 2009. This moth is univoltine, with the majority of the year being spent in the adult stage.
